The International Conference on Oriental Carpets 19-22 April 2007 in
Istanbul included visits to
several highly interesting exhibitions and receptions as a part of the
program. On Friday evening, April 20th, the Museum of Turkish and Islamic
Art (Turk Islam Eserleri Muzesi) held an reception and exhibition for the ICOC participants. The reception was very cheerful and old friends were found at the
reception and new acquaintances were made. Well - the highlight was of
course the Museum's excellent collection of more than 100 Anatolian
carpets and fragments - some of them more than 700 years old.
